Triple Exhaust Systems

Stock OEM Systems

This section is for info only since these systems are no longer available or in production. 

They occasionally show up on internet auction sites, salvage yards and for trade. 

Some fabricators reproduce these in stainless steel.

There were only 3 different stock OEM exhaust systems available on the Yamaha triples.

3 into 1

The 3-1 system was only installed on the first triple, the 1976 XS750D

Notice the graceful curves of the header pipes

3 into 2 Standard

This is the 3-2 system that was on all the Standards, from the 1977 XS750-2D and later

The cross over pipe is necessary to balance out the exhaust pulses on the 3-2

3 into 2 Special

The 3-2 system used on the Specials was available on the 1978 750SE to the 1981 850SH model. 

It is similar to the Standard, the primary difference is the shorter, cut off mufflers.
